First Look: Vertorack 6-bike tow bar mounted rack
Vertorack carries as many as six bikes on the back of virtually any vehicle.
Based in Paarl just outside of Cape Town, Vertorack was designed and developed by veteran mountain bike rider, Pieter Rossouw. From his home-based workshop that trades as Bike Solutions – a business that will fix anything bike related – Pieter makes and retails the two, four or six bike Vertoracks.
The Vertorack has a simple hook and strap system on the higher cross bar that the bike hangs vertically from. The rear wheel is secured to the lower cross bar by straps. Loading and fastening a bike is done in less than 60 seconds. For such a simple and easy to use system it is remarkable how secure the bikes are, even when hurtling down dirt roads or freeways.
Pieter cuts, welds and does the finishing of the rack from his home workshop where he also runs a bike repair business, known as Bike Solutions. Pieter has clients from all over South Africa and can repair or service any brand of suspension, brakes, drivetrains, rebuild wheels and fix pretty much anything bike related. With a fully equipped engineering shop, Pieter is able to machine new parts himself which dramatically improves turn around time on complicated repairs.
Vertorack is available in a two, four or six bike version with pricing starting at R5500. | Enquiries: 082 781 2191 or follow @_vertorack_ @bike_solutions_
