New Two-Day Gravel Race: The Tanqua Kuru Bicycle Race

The Tanqua Kuru Bicycle Race is a two-day gravel race and adventure taking you deep into the Tankwa Karoo.

Taking place over the 28th, 29th and 30th of May this is essentially a new kind of bicycle race.

It’s a simple celebration of how a self-propelled machine can bring people together in one of the most unique locations on earth. The event is a fully supported, segment-based race that will take riders onto district roads, private farmlands and into the park. The base will be at the famous Tankwa Tented Camp, which just oozes quirkiness. The route has been designed for modern gravel bikes, however, our main aim is to bring people who love bicycles, together, so to that end, we do welcome any and all bikes. It’s about being outside. It’s about exploring. It’s about racing. It’s about you. Follow the photo story below for a sneak peek.
