THBC Distribution lands CushCore and VHS South African Agency
Let’s go 2022! The year is just getting started and the news drops that the award-winning Cushcore and VHS brands are now readily available to South African riders. Here’s the latest from the cool guys at THBC:
THBC Distribution was formed in 2021 with the aim of importing and distributing unique, quality mountain bike components and accessories to the South African market. CushCore and VHS were obvious choices to bring into the country to start with.
CushCore
CushCore is the original, innovative tyre insert that provides rim and tyre protection, puncture protection, sidewall stability, additional grip, and decreased rolling resistance. It turns your tubeless tyre into a suspension system with a tunable air spring and foam damper. The insert is made from proprietary closed-cell, polyolefin foam that does not soak up sealant at all. The insert also applies radial pressure to the bead of your tyre, ensuring it does not roll off the rim, allowing you to run much lower pressures than conventional tubeless set-ups.
Independent data testing shows that compared to a traditional tubeless setup, CushCore has the following advantages:
Smoother: 11-12% reduction in shock and vibration, translating to a smoother ride, better control, and less rider fatigue.
Superior Cornering: Increased sidewall stiffness of 35%, and 25% reduced tyre roll in corners which means faster cornering and more traction.
Better Suspension: Suspension works 16% better with CushCore, meaning you get a plusher ride, have more travel available for big hits, and carry more momentum over rough sections of trail.
Less Rolling Resistance: 3.2% less rolling resistance compared to a standard tubeless set-up. This means you expend less energy when pedaling and hold speed more efficiently.
Protection: 50% more rim protection on bigger hits giving you peace of mind (especially with those expensive carbon rims), less pinch flats, and more control when experiencing big hits.
THBC brings in a variety of offerings in the CushCore range including the PRO (gravity, trail or eMTB applications), and XC version of the inserts in both 27.5” and 29” rim sizes as well as the valves and bead dropper tool to allow for easy installation. VHS
