Bike Check: William Bush’s Trek Rail 7

William Bush of Dunkeld Cycles in Jan Smuts Avenue, Johannesburg is a family man who has a passion for bikes. Known for his warm, friendly disposition, William is also a passionate eBiker. His current personal bike is a Trek Rail 7, and this is his setup.

If you sold the bike, what component would you keep for your next bike? Definitely the dropper post— especially for riding berms, I can drop the post by about an inch which lowers my centre of gravity whilst still enabling me to pedal out, giving me better handling.
What surprises you the most about this bike? I don’t feel the weight of the bike with the pedal assist.
Any imminent component upgrades and why? The upgrade I could do is to the 625 Bosch PowerTube battery, giving me even more distance or being able to ride in turbo mode for longer.
What do you enjoy the most about this bike? How it sticks to the ground— the handling is phenomenal.

William runs the Bontrager Rhythm Comp alloy bars, in 15mm rise at 780mm wide with a standard 50mm stem.

Keep on shredding Will!
