Round one of the 2025 SRAM Western Cape Downhill season kicks off on the 18th & 19th of January at the picturesque Zevenwacht Wine Estate. Here’s an overview of what to expect.
There’s plenty of air miles available on this track.
The series will consist of six races this year, including a round that doubles up as the SA Cup. Fans can expect to see the region’s best gravity racers, across 12 categories, competing for the win! Recently, due to demand, the organizers announced the addition of an eMTB category to the series – which will also be an exciting class to watch.

The categories cater to riders from 8-years-old, and, as in years gone by, the Nippers, Sprog, Sub-Junior and Junior categories are expected to deliver close and exciting racing. Of course, the Elite and Masters categories will be in action — this is the chance for spectators to see a few World Cup level riders battling it out for the win.

The event takes place over two days, with riders on track from 7.30am on both Saturday for practice and Sunday for racing. Race entries are available now, at R600 each which includes two days of uplifts. Entry is free for spectators. Click here to enter. //
