Both the men’s and women’s races were packed with drama. VdP clocked the fastest-ever Paris-Roubaix with a 46.841kph average speed that was driven by an intense opening 150km of the race, a slight breeze and a cooperative break with 100km to go. In the women’s race, Canadian Alison Jackson kept the impetus alive inside the breakaway and quite incredibly outsprinted everyone on the banks to take the win.
