Round two of the UCI World Cup XCO took place this weekend on a revised track, in Araxá Brazil. Here’s your recap of the action.

Elite Women | Jenny Rissveds claimed her first victory of the 2025 season with a dominant performance, launching a decisive attack on lap four and holding an advantage until the end of the race. Rissveds flew up the climbs and held her advantage on the technical sections, to win by 28 seconds. Series leader Samara Maxwell continued her brilliant start to the 2025 season with a second-place result with Evie Richards round out the podium. Candice Lill finished 17th and is now placed 10th in the series. In the U23 category, Tyler Jacobs finished 6th in the XCO and is now placed 5th in the series.

Elite Men | Christopher Blevins completed a sweep of the weekend’s races by taking the XCC and XCO wins. The final lap of Saturday’s XCO was frantic but with many riders still in with a chance the Specialized squad rolled off the front to take all three podium places with Blevins first, Martin Vidaurre Kossmann second and Adrien Boichis third. Riding the race of his life, Capetonian and first year Elite rider Luke Moir lead the race in the closing stages and held on for fifth position. Coupled with his sterling results at round one, Luke is now ranked 11th in the series, as a privateer. With this result, Luke now joins the ranks of Burry Stander and Alan Hatherly as the only South Africans to place inside the top five at a World Cup XCO, in the Elite Men’s field.
