Podcast | Tom Isted on Freeride, Darkfest and his World Record Jump

26 april, stellenbosch cape town | mountain bikers tom isted and andrew neethling on the moving the needle podcast discuss the darkfest freeride contest

On this episode of Moving The Needle, Tom Isted joins the show to discuss the progression of Freeriding, Darkfest and that 120-foot World Record breaking jump of his.

If you were following Darkfest, you’ll have seen that this year the crew constructed the longest dirt jump yet, measuring in at 110 feet to the sweet spot of the landing. Brit, Tom Isted took full advantage, backflipping his way into the history books not once, but twice. With perfect weather conditions, Tom took off and his backflip of 120 feet, or 37 meters, makes it not only the longest backflip ever landed, but the longest dirt-to-dirt jump ever landed on a mountain bike! Listen in as Andrew Neethling and Tom take you inside the world (and minds) of these incredible athletes.
