Few would argue that Duran is not one of the coolest mountain bikers on the planet. As a professional (and passionate) trail builder Duran plies his trade across Southern Africa, Europe and the East. When he is not on a trail build project, Duran can usually be found floating through a flow line near his home in Cape Town. We caught up with him to take a closer look at his newly beloved Trek Rail 7.

The Rail 7 has a fully integrated and removable 625Wh battery and when you are as cool as @doobran_van_weeden you don’t need to hydrate on the trail.

The bike has a RockShox Deluxe Select+ shock with 200psi and the flip-chip is set in the low position which gives a head angle of 64.5°.

Duran has the bar-mounted controller set quite far inwards. The Performance Line CX motor has a magnesium casing, produces 85Nm and tops out at 32kph.

The bike has standard 203mm Shimano rotors with 4 piston calipers.

It’s an all Bontrager cockpit with three 10mm spacers under the 50mm stem (don’t tell RockShox) and 780mm bars. Saddle is the Bontrager Arvada.
