Longo Borghini wins the breakaway sprint and MvdP solos to victory.
After a calculatingly cautious start, Mathieu van der Poel turned on the afterburners to solo to an incredible Flanders victory. “It’s one of the hardest races I’ve done,” said Mathieu. With this victory, he joins an elite crew of seven riders who have won this race three times. Nobody has won it four times. In the Women’s race, Lidl-Trek played the one-two game perfectly to outpower Kasia Niewiadoma in a three-up sprint finish. Catch the highlights edits here:
