This pairing effectively brings suspension ‘intelligence’ directly into the cockpit, transforming the bike computer into a central hub for both performance tracking and system control.

How does it work?

Basically, riders can now access real-time suspension data at a glance, with key metrics such as system status, mode changes, and battery levels displayed clearly on the Karoo screen. The result is a more intuitive riding experience – one where critical information is always within view.

There’s also a Flight Attendant default profile, enabling a ready-to-ride setup optimized for seamless system interaction.

Almost endless data fields

On the bike, riders can monitor their Flight Attendant system and settings with a customizable suite of data fields. These include fork position and rear shock position, available in both numeric and visual formats, as well as fork and rear shock position counts for deeper performance tracking. Additional insights come from Flight Attendant mode and battery status, both offered with visual and numeric display options, alongside effort zone data presented in either numeric or color-coded formats.

Detailed tuning and diagnostics are now more readily available.

The system also provides detailed tuning and diagnostics through bias settings, fork and rear shock low-speed compression (LSC), and a dedicated Flight Attendant error mode, ensuring riders have complete visibility and control over their suspension setup.

On-the-fly adjustments – without opening the AXS app

The Karoo also has a Flight Attendant Control Center that allows riders to adjust key suspension settings directly from the Karoo, while riding. By swiping down from the top of the screen, the Control Center opens to reveal a range of intuitive controls, including the ability to switch Flight Attendant LEDs to Dark Mode, fine-tune system bias, and adjust low-speed compression (LSC) for both the fork and rear shock. These settings of Bias, Fork LSC, and Shock LSC – can all be quickly modified with a simple tap, making on-the-fly customization seamless and efficient.

The gains are marginal and likely more around the convenience factor of it all, other than any actual new settings. Still very cool though.

My take on all this is there is undoubtedly marginal gains to be had here. The other upside is most riders will benefit simply from the now more readily available data and insights on how their suspension is performing. More data and insights mean those who have the wherewithal for the system will have a better handling machine, be safer and even have more chance at hanging onto the faster wheels at their weekend group rides. One downside; with all these high tech toys there is now no excuse for getting dropped. //
