There’s a little news trickling in from RockShox today. The Pike, Lyrik and Zeb trail fork lineup now has a new damping unit offering more range on your LSC and HSC settings. Also new, a set of bushings that lower friction levels to improve the ‘butter-effect.’ Here’s an overview of the updates.

Across all three forks the travel options remain unchanged.

Charger 3.1 damper

Basically, the new fork damper known as Charger 3.1 builds on the successful Charger 3 platform. The changes are all internal and they broaden the adjustment range of the Low Speed Compression (LSC) and High Speed Compression (HSC) circuits. This broader range will make it easier for riders to find their desired settings.

Inside the Low Speed Compression circuits, the ‘plumbing’ has been tweaked to help the oil flow. RockShox says in the “Open” setting, the oil flow has increased by 68%. The idea here is to improve comfort and reduce hand fatigue.

The Zeb is now available in the signature Electric Red colour.

On the High Speed Compression side, RockShox says their World Cup riders asked for more damping in the system, to give them more support on the faster tracks. They obliged.

New Bushings

RockShox says that during development of their new Boxxer fork they made some improvements on their testing protocols, manfacturing quality and product consistency. One of the outcomes of these improvements is a new bushing package for the ZEB, Lyrik and Pike forks that reduces friction. //
