Stage 10 kicked off on Tuesday with a 166.6km route that was potentially one for the breakaway – meaning it’s got many hills or small mountains but nothing that would take more than about 15-minutes to climb.Carapaz, out front and charging. It was a brave attempt at a solo stage win. Over the top of the penultimate climb and a few of the GC contenders had a go at opening a gap on Tadej. No dice.Tadej kicked week two off with another stage win and time gained.At 50.91kph average, Stage 11 was the fastest in the history of the race. With momentum on his side and some fantastic bike handling, Soren Waerenskjold slid through the inside of the sprinting peloton – just millimeters from the barrier – to take the winon Wednesday.Thursday, Stage Twelve and again there’s a break initiated by Baptiste Veistroffer. Tim Merlier took his third stage win of this year’s tour and solidified his standing as the fastest man in the race. Friday, stage thirteen, 205.8km with two climbs near the end presented a chance for the breakaway – which succeeded.Tom Pidcock animated the break, leaped up the GC and was pretty close to a stage win.Stage 14, 3800m of climbing and Tadej rode away from the best in the world to take his 25th stage win.He is a remarkable athlete.The fight for the top five is heating up. Paul Seixas (left), Remco Evenepoel (right) are just 20-seconds apart, in third and fourth, going into Sunday’s mammoth stage.On Sunday, Jonas crashed and is out of the race with a collarbone injury, Tadej rode the final climb for teammate Del Torro and Remco took the stage, his first non-TT stage win.Au revoir Jonas.
