Giant Revolt X: A new gravel whip with front suspension
Word just in from Giant Bicycles is they are pretty pumped to launch their all-new gravel whip, the Giant Revolt X. Amongst other bells and whistles, it features suspension-optimized geometry and a flip chip to adjust handling and tire clearance. Tuck into the full scoop from their official release..
Giant unveils all-new Revolt X Gravel Bike Range with front suspension
Giant, the world leader in cycling technology, has introduced an all-new range of gravel bikes featuring front suspension. Available in both composite and aluminum frameset options, the new Revolt X features suspension-optimized geometry that makes these bikes ideal for riding rugged gravel and dirt.
The Giant Revolt has been pushing the boundaries of gravel and mixed-terrain riding for more than a decade. As one of the first production bikes built for high-performance, drop-bar riding on variable roads and gravel surfaces, Revolt helped pioneer this evolving category.
The new Revolt X range is aimed at the more adventurous end of the gravel spectrum. It combines the efficiency and control that Revolt has always been known for with even greater capabilities when the going gets rough.
The range includes two series: the Revolt X Advanced Pro, designed with a lightweight Advanced-grade composite frameset, and the Revolt X, engineered with Giant’s industry-leading ALUXX aluminum technology.
SMOOTH CONTROL
All models include a short-travel suspension fork designed specifically for gravel riding. With 40mm of front travel, plus a frameset and cockpit that are both engineered for smooth control on rough riding surfaces, Revolt X is for those who dream of bombing descents with the speed of a drop-bar bike and the confidence of a mountain bike.
The purpose-built geometry of the Revolt X features a long reach and a bottom bracket height for maximum control on more chunky terrain. Lightweight frame materials and innovative construction techniques create a perfect blend of agility and control to help riders power up climbs, corner at speed, and tackle tricky descents with confidence.
TUNED COMPLIANCE
All framesets in the Revolt X range are designed with a lower seatstay junction and thin-diameter seatstay tubes that improve rear-end compliance without sacrificing the stiffness needed for sprinting and climbing.
A unique dropper seatpost further absorbs bumps and vibrations with 25mm of vertical compliance. Beyond that, riders can adjust saddle height on the fly with a handlebar-mounted lever. The dropper seatpost offers 75 or 100mm of height adjustment, depending on frame size. Both the Revolt X Advanced Pro and Revolt X series come with the Contact SL XR D-Fuse handlebar, featuring 16 degrees of flare. The suspension-inspired handlebar design helps minimize hand and arm fatigue by absorbing shocks and vibrations before they reach the body.
ADAPTABLE TO THE TERRAIN
The Revolt X range is highly adaptable to riding style and terrain. All frames feature a flip chip to adjust the wheelbase and rear tire clearance (up to 53mm). A longer wheelbase adds stability and increases tire clearance, while a shorter wheelbase delivers a quicker, more agile ride.
Riders also have three seatpost options: the included suspension/dropper seatpost for maximum control, a proprietary D-Fuse seatpost for more compliance, or a traditional 30.9mm round seatpost. Both series also feature Giant WheelSystems, including the all-new composite CXR X1 on Revolt X Advanced Pro models, along with tubeless tires set up right out of the box. Every available wheel setup ensures robust strength at a minimal weight, plus the ability to run high-volume tires at lower pressures for a smoother ride, better grip, and smooth rolling efficiency on variable terrain.
