Thaba Trails in Gauteng kicked off South Africa’s National Enduro Series, hosting the SA Cup opening round and doubling as a Gauteng provincial.
The event saw approximately 130 riders take part in various categories from at least six provinces. With rain and flooding across the country and in particular Gauteng, weather, fortunately, provided a reprieve leading up to the event as the days cleared and Thaba’s variable elevation with rocky terrain draining enough for racing. Albeit with a bit of spice as most of the day where the mud wasn’t sticky (not tacky) it was slippery in the rocky sections. Towards the end of the day though most sections were drying out and the tacky traction riders love, made a brief appearance. Here’s a photo-style recap of some of the action.
