Results: 2025 Ride Joburg

Mauritian champion and Tour de France Femmes stage winner, Kim le Court, and South African mountain biking talent Jaedon Terlouw won the 2025 Ride Joburg.
Le Court played the patience game, allowing early attacks to go before using the climbs in the second half of the 97-kilometre course to exert her dominance over the elite women’s field. The AG Insurance Soudal star attacked from a select group of 10 riders on Jan Smuts Avenue and passed the lone breakaway rider, Magda Nieuwoudt, to seize the lead with 15 kilometres remaining. Once in the front, Le Court never looked back and took a commanding victory ahead of Lucy Young and Nieuwoudt.

Terlouw, meanwhile, found himself in an elite selection comprising of two former Ride Joburg winners heading into the finale. The PYGA Euro Steel rider had climbed powerfully alongside defending champion Ryan Gibbons, and two-time winner Marc Pritzen, distancing Kent Main and a handful of other leading contenders heading into the final 10 kilometres. The trio worked well together until the new technical final 500 metres, when Terlouw dove down the inside of Gibbons on a tight corner. This proved to be the winning move and even gained the young mountain biker the time to sit up and soak up the victory as he crossed the line. Gibbons and Pritzen had to settle for second and third, respectively. Both the men’s and women’s winners ride away R200 000 richer, claiming the biggest single-day prize money in South African cycling. //
