Ride Darling: 10, 35 or 50km of the best trails
Great trails, some climbing and a chilled family-friendly vibe await at the Ride Darling event on the 6th of May. Here’s all you need to know.
Ride Darling traverses the beautiful, untouched single-track and jeep tracks of Wolwefontein Farm and its surrounding areas. The route is well-marked and marshaled with water points to keep you hydrated. The event is suitable for riders of all levels, novice or experienced and caters to individuals, groups and corporate-style team building. Thanks to developing relationships with our neighbouring farms and the hard work of our local riding community you can look forward to the best routes Darling has to offer, untrammeled single track, decent climbs and breathtaking views. It is a timed event with every rider receiving a medal.

- All ages welcome (kids under 16 must be accompanied by an adult)
- eMTBs are welcome
- Wolvewontein is a working farm so sadly no dogs please
- Prizes for the category winners of each route (excluding the eMTB riders)

The Routes
50km / 1050m elevation
Starting at 7:30 am, this one is for the trail and technical enthusiasts. The route starts on an open dirt road, leading to a short climb around Klipberg. Single-track and Jeep-track will take you through the Diemersdal Vineyards where there is a waterpoint at 14km before you experience the amazing 10 km known as the Khwattu trail. Expect a long steady climb on the way home, passing the same waterpoint at the 37km mark, before finishing off with the popular single tracks of Wolwefontein Farm. Entry fee is R320.
35km / 650m elevation
Starting at 8 am, this route is for fit riders who are looking for less trail and more open dirt roads to roll on. This route is predominantly jeep track and includes beautiful views from the heights of Darling with two water points at the 14 and 27km mark. Entry fee is R280.
10km / 120m elevation
A chilled 8.30 am start with a farm-style ride ideal for beginners and juniors. Expect rideable, fun trails as you take in the beauty of the Wolwefontein Farm. This is an excellent route for rookies and newcomers to mountain biking. From the start there is a short climb on a smooth road that will take you down the slopes of Klipberg before a little pedal to the finish line where your medal awaits. Entry fee is R140.
