Advocacy: Want new trails in TokaiMTB? Make your voice heard, before 31 May

Cape Town MTBer’s: If you want new trails in TokaiMTB, now is the time to make your voice heard.

TokaiMTB, the non-profit company that represents mountain bikers within the Table Mountain National Park, recently submitted a proposal to SANParks with improvements for the existing trails and recommendations for new trails. Simply put, if you want new trails inside TokaiMTB, now is the time to make your voice heard in support of the proposal.

The proposal includes a winding single-track climbing trail from the lower to upper levels – so you won’t need to climb on the jeep track. It includes converting many of the discontinued jeep tracks to single-track trails. The bigger idea is to build linking trails so the larger network of trails is connected. TokaiMTB faces a mammoth admin and approval process to get all of this done and it all starts with you. We need you to email the SANParks team, briefly expressing your support of the proposal and TokaiMTB. A simple email will go a long way in drumming up the support for the proposal. Comments close on 31 May, so don’t delay.

To send your comments in support of the TCMF review (the proposal), please email tcmf@sanparks.org before 31 May. All your email needs to say is: “I support the trail proposal of TokaiMTB”. Of course, you can also add any additional comments you wish to.
