Win a bespoke eBike through the Pedal For Good Raffle
The Pedal Project program, which uses bikes to provide Trail Therapy to kids in need, is raffling off an eBike to raise funds.
For the second year the charity, which currently provides weekly mental health counseling and a healthy outdoors outlet for 120 children from schools in Macassar and Strand (Western Cape), will be staging a Dream Bike raffle to raise funds for the programme and their bold expansion plans.
“For the 2024 SA Dream bike raffle, we are proud to partner with Outer Cycles, who will contribute their Link eBike to the cause,” Pedal Project founder Jaco van der Linde said. “This eBike has been personalised by famed designer and pop artist Johan Johnston of Hasie and the Robots. The frame has then been painted by Jared Mahaffey and protected with ArmourRide to complete the bespoke package which will not only look great but will also fly through the singletracks.”
PedalForGood is a transformative youth development program that uses mountain biking as a tool for engaging at-risk youth and providing essential community-based mental health services. By combining the therapeutic benefits of the sport with a holistic approach to trail therapy, PedalForGood aims to sustain its current cohort of participants and expand to include an improved facilitator curriculum in 2025.
“The bike has already been named Silwane, which means beast in Fanakalo, which pays homage to the South African land, showcasing a distinct and visually striking aesthetic,” Van der Linde continued. “Additionally, the bike boasts locally crafted carbon wheels from South Industries, a premium cockpit and dropper post from Lyne Components, and has been expertly assembled by World Cup mechanic Jonty Neethling, at The Hanger Bike Co. Each of these contributions highlights the exceptional craftsmanship and local talent that have gone into creating this masterpiece.”
With each raffle ticket purchased, participants stand a chance to win this extraordinary bike and contribute to a meaningful cause. Three hours of Trail Therapy for a child will be funded by every two raffle tickets purchased, furthering the Pedal Project mission to support and uplift youth in need.
