Race Wrap: 2025 XCC World Cup, Leogang

Blevins and Pieterse take brilliant wins!
Today’s XCC racing got the triple header World Cup race weekend in Leogang Austria underway. The course consisted of one long climb followed by a flowy bikepark-style descent to complete the lap.

The Elite Women’s Race, Puck Pieterse putting in a dominant ride on the tough course. She pulled ahead halfway through the race and never looked back, crossing the line 16 seconds clear of the field. Samara Maxwell kept up her strong 2025 form with a solid second place, while Nicole Koller rounded out the podium, finishing 21 seconds behind Pieterse. Animating the race, Candice Lill faded somewhat but still finished in an incredible 5th place.


In the Elite Men’s Race, Christopher Blevins continued his perfect run in the XCC this season, claiming his fourth consecutive Short Track World Cup win. He attacked on the final climb, surging into the lead and holding off his Specialized teammate Martin Vidaurre Kossmann at the line. Charlie Aldridge looked solid all race long and wrapped up the final podium spot. Further down the field South African’s Alan Hatherly and Luke Moir crossed the line in 11th and 35th place, respectively. Catch the highlights below.
