The book is designed for children between the ages of 3 and 8.

“Mountain biking changed and saved my life, and I have been on a mission to educate women and girls about the power of the sport,” said Richter. “I wish I learned a lot of these life lessons from the bike at a younger age, so hopefully, this book will help the younger generation realise how bikes can build confidence, teach them how to face and conquer fears and help them see what they’re capable of on and off the bike.”

In “Mountain Biking Adventures with Izzy,” young readers will join Izzy and Lyle as they embark on an eventful ride through the forest. They’ll twist around trees, navigate challenging trails, and learn about trail etiquette. Izzy serves as an inspiring role model, teaching children the importance of being prepared for adventures, taking care of others, and showing respect for the places we play.

But this book isn’t just about mountain biking etiquette; it extends its message to encompass various aspects of life. It promotes good manners, respect for people and the environment, and the significance of being prepared and planning ahead. “Etiquette Is a Big Word” encapsulates essential life values, making it a valuable addition to any child’s bookshelf.

The creative force behind this remarkable book goes beyond Lindsey Richter’s expertise. She collaborated with aeronautical engineer Heidi Ashwell, who conceived the idea for this inspiring tale. The book’s captivating illustrations were brought to life by talented artist and fellow mountain biker Kristina Wayte.

“Mountain bikes and bicycles have changed my life from the young age of five years old to where I am today; I founded Pedal Project to use the powerful mountain bike as a driving force for positive change in communities that need“ Jaco van der Linde, founder and distributor of the “Mountain Biking Adventures with Izzy”. “When the book was published in the United States last year, I worked closely with Lindsey to ensure that we can get this wonderful book in the hands of keen shredders who can learn a life lesson.”

What sets “Mountain Biking Adventures with Izzy” apart is its purpose beyond storytelling. All profits from the book will support the Pedal Project, an initiative committed to youth development through sports, including mountain biking, and community-based mental health support for at-risk youth in South Africa.
