Introducing the Pirelli P Zero Race TLR ‘Nero’

The P Zero Race TLR is a Tour de France stage-winning, high-performance road tyre that we are all familiar with. Developed with inputs from their World Tour partnerships, it features motorsport-derived technology, to optimize grip, rolling-speed and air retention. It’s a popular tyre that is available in a variety of sizes, 26, 28, 30, 32, 35 and 40’s. It’s also the first ‘mass-produced’ tubeless road tyre, to come out of an Italian-based factory.

The Nero features high-contrast detailing.

Existing technologies in the entire P Zero Race TLR family include a rubber compound called SmartEvo. Pirelli combines three different polymers with the rubber, yielding “record level rolling-speed, grip in wet and dry, with handling and performance demanded by World Tour riders.”

Lining the inside of the 120tpi casing is a tubeless-ready construction known as SpeedCore. Essentially it’s a thin layer of rubber, infused with aramid particles that add strength. The technology was developed in Italy and Pirelli have registered a patent on it.

The P Zero Race is a high-performance, tubeless-ready road tyre.

New to this family of high-performance road tyres is what Pirelli has termed Nero. Think of it as a high-contrast (or high-definition) detailing on the sidewall. It’s an upgrade to the aesthetics, with soft-touch lettering that creates a clean and premium look.
