Ride The Karoo 2026 brings riders straight into the heart of this unique region, offering a three-day stage race that blends adventure, challenge and authentic Karoo hospitality. It’s not just a race, it’s a weekend designed to immerse riders in everything that makes this part of South Africa so extraordinary.
Set on the historic Dwarsvlei Farm, the event village is the perfect base for a weekend of riding, relaxing, and sharing stories with fellow riders. From the moment riders arrive, they step into a world where the pace is set by the trails, the camaraderie and the natural rhythms of the Karoo. Over three stages, riders will tackle a mix of jeep tracks, rolling koppies and technical single-track, with routes that offer both challenge and reward.
Friday’s start provides a gentle introduction, with the option to finish under the stars. Saturday and Sunday offer a choice: the shorter “Lamb” route or the longer, more testing “Ram” route, each threading through the most scenic and demanding parts of the region. Each stage returns riders to the event village, completing a journey that’s as much about the experience as it is about the ride.
Ride The Karoo is designed for riders of all levels. Whether you’re an experienced stage racer or someone seeking a unique cycling adventure, the weekend balances challenge with enjoyment. Every rider receives a rider kit, a handmade Karoo medal and all meals are included – from Friday dinner to Sunday lunch. Tented accommodation is provided on-site, with upgrade options available for those who want a little extra comfort, while medical and route support ensure safety throughout the event.
The experience goes beyond riding. Evenings at Ride The Karoo are about connecting, sharing and enjoying the best of the Karoo.
