SRAM Launches New Brakes for XC, Trail, eMTB, Enduro & DH

Today SRAM launched a flock of new brakes. The synopsis of it all goes something along the lines of this: all their brakes now use mineral oil, the Motive brakes replace the existing Level and Code series, they’ve added a new model to the Maven lineup and two new models to the DB range. For more details, dive into the presser..

SRAM Motive
XC and Trail
Motive is the brake for today’s faster-everywhere riders that delivers the perfect combination of light weight and serious power, from race course to remote adventure. Light enough for hard charging XC. Powerful enough for aggressive trail. You can brake later, carry more speed and climb like you always could. Motive challenges conventions.

Motive features DirectLink, our lightest weight power delivery for an incredibly solid, linear feel that starts the moment you squeeze the lever. It then ensures you have the same amount of power throughout the full lever stroke, for ultra-consistency and precise control.

Motive gives you surplus power to tune up or down. Think of it like volume. You might want to max it out and listen at full power, or turn it down and enjoy subtlety and precision. More available power gives you more options. Motive can be run with three rotor options and two pad compounds, allowing riders to tune their brakes to suit the way the ride.

Motive delivers high performance and low maintenance. Thanks to our seal design that eliminates its downsides, we leverage the advantages of mineral oil in our mountain brakes. With its hydrophobic properties, mineral oil won’t take on water over time, which then drastically reduces the need for maintenance and bleeding. Plus, our mineral oil was co-developed with Maxima Racing Oils to optimize the consistent performance of our seals regardless of temperature and bleed interval. Mineral oil for the win. We have three models of Motive brakes available; Ultimate, Silver and Bronze. Learn more here
SRAM Maven Base
For high speeds on demanding terrain
Modern mountain bikes have redefined what riders are capable of, pushing the requirements for extreme-duty power further than ever before. Maven is our answer to that evolution, giving you the boundless power of confidence for elevated speed and control on ever-more demanding terrain.

Maven Base’s lever body houses Directlink, which translates rider input for a smooth application of power. And because of a stiff 4-bolt caliper that sheds an incredible amount of heat, that feel remains consistent, so the last corner feels like the first corner.

And with so much baseline power on hand, there is more range than ever before to tune the ride qualities to exactly how you want with different pad materials, and rotor sizes. Maven Base features a Blasted Black anodized finish, and for ease of customization includes tool-free reach adjust. Learn more here
SRAM Maven Ultimate Expert Kit
Create that winning combination
Every course is different. As conditions change, so does the tuning of your brakes. The fully loaded limited-edition Maven Expert Box is designed to provide riders every-thing they need to tune their Maven Ultimate brakes for optimal brake performance. For 2025, the kit features a split caliper finish, with teal splatter ano on one half, and bold black ano on the other. The lever body features the same bold black ano, while black titanium hardware and mounting bolts complete the signature look.

Featuring monstrous 18 and 19.5-millimeter pistons, you’ve got nearly 50% more power than Code on hand. With so much baseline power on hand, there is more range than ever before to tune the ride qualities to exactly how you want. With this in mind, the Maven Expert Box has been assembled with four HS2 rotors in three different sizes (1x 220mm, 2x 200mm, 1x 180mm) as well as both organic and sintered XL brake pads for up to 14 different tuning combinations.

A custom travel bag keeps your rotors safe when in transit, and when you finally need it, the included Pro Mineral Bleed kit has the tools necessary to service your brakes. Whether you’re landing on the podium or not, the Maven Expert Box contains everything you need to find your winning combination. Learn more here
