The battery charge time is a little over two hours and that will give you around 15-minutes of usage which is more than enough to wash a few dirty bikes. It is really very easy to use; charge it, add water, turn it on, point the trigger gun and squeeze. It’s that simple.
Looking at the dimensions, the Kärcher OC 3 Foldable is just a tiny bit smaller than a regular household bucket. The water tank has an 8-litre capacity, when fully extended. When not in use, the whole unit folds down to about a quarter of it’s size.
Impressions
I’ve used the Kärcher OC 3 Foldable for a few months now and have washed plenty of dusty, muddy and grimy bikes. The pressure is about double of what you’d be getting out of your municipal tap. The trigger gun is light and easy to operate and the hose is easily long enough for washing a bike. The whole unit is actually very lightweight and easy to move around – unlike what I’ve experienced with high-pressure washers. The overall construction is excellent and I can’t see why it wouldn’t last for years.
Pressurized water alone doesn’t effectively clean a bike and you’ll still need a safe degreaser, bike cleaner and elbow grease to do the job right. Is it powerful enough? – for sure! Just don’t expect it to remove caked mud or month’s old grease in a second. This isn’t that kind of washer. I was also pleasantly surprised with the low noise level – it’s far less noisy than a high-pressure unit. Then there’s the upsides of the foldable bucket – easy to transport and easy to store. Be aware though, it doesn’t require much force to fold so be careful not to put any downward pressure on the bucket handle when in use.
