Training data, route sharing, navigation, connectivity with AXS components, 35+ hours battery life – the new Karoo looks impressive

In case you are wondering, the name is indeed inspired by our very own Karoo. The reason tracks back to the brand’s co-founder who is originally from South Africa. SRAM acquired the brand a few years back and have since been refining and releasing newer versions, adding features that increase connectivity, navigation, training and more.

This is what we know about the latest offering. First off, it records every aspect of your ride – from your training data, routes, controls ANT+ lights, informs on eBike range and has full connectivity to all AXS components. It has a ‘smartphone-quality’ touchscreen with colourful visuals making deivce management and operation, in all conditions, simple.

Battery life is stated as being 35+ hours, memory is now at 64GB with 4GB of RAM which speeds up map rendering and overall capability. Data management is through the new Hammerhead Companion App or the brand’s Web Dashboard. In terms of connectivity, it speaks to all SRAM AXS products like groupsets, power meters, tyre pressure sensors etc etc. Perhaps the best feature is the ability to share routes and profiles between Karoos, in seconds.
